I prefer the decidedness of ink over graphite. As much as I like doodling surrealist images, I find myself enjoying observational drawing when I have a pen in hand. I don't do this because I necessarily love drawing realistic things or want to accurately immortalize the likeness of objects but more so because I end up finding small, beautiful moments in the natural curvature of fruit or the detail on a jewelry box.
