Before college, I had never had the opportunity to formally do figure drawing in a class. I often approached the body as human parts stitched together to comprise a whole, too focused on making parts of the image into recognizable eyes, hands, etc. These are some sketches from ART 103 where I instead considered the figure as an intersection of shapes and shades.
