"The weeds and I"
This is a poem I wrote and digitized in this video with experimentations in typography and sound. The soundscaping is composed from a various snippets from my personal archives captured from different urban settings and parks I have traveled to ranging from London to Mexico City to Dublin to New York City.

"Saudade"
The word “saudade" in Portuguese described a distinct melanchoic yearning for something that cannot exist in the present moment. While I had likely encountered this word before in my life as a concept, it was not until I uprooted my entire life to move to London in 2025—a place I had first encountered in 2020—that I grasped this distinct feeling of nostalgia from a lived experience standpoint, longing for a version of myself that no longer exists, an ex-partner I don’t speak to anymore, a beloved diner that had to close down during COVID, etc., and a time in my life where everything still felt endless with possibility.
In this final film for the Moving Image Production module, my coursemates and I sought to capture the distinct loneliness felt in the urban landscape as people try to reconcile who they were in their past life and who they are becoming in their new one.
